As a new addition to the Blau-Metall product line, planar sieves with an all-stainless steel, welded design are available in a variety of sizes and ideally suited for a multitude of applications, e.g. as a planar colander, for even drying of herbs and seeds, as an analytical instrument in materials science and product development or other specialized laboratory and industry application and potentially for home use in the garden, kitchen or elsewhere.

Blau-Metall planar sieves consist of a robust stainless-steel frame – either square or rectangular in shape with cleanly welded corners – in which the sieving medium is fixed. Planar sieves are available with woven wire cloth according to ISO 3310 / ASTM E 11 for analytical applications, cost-effective industrial-grade wire cloth for non-laboratory use, and perforated plates with round or square openings of different sizes for specialized sieving tasks. Additionally, our flat sieves can be placed (or rigidly mounted) in a stainless-steel frame to provide additional stability and a protruding edge for keeping material on the sieve when being used for wet sieving on a larger scale than is possible with traditional circular test sieves.

Optionally, the sieves can be outfitted with additional solder joints to keep the wire cloth at high tension. In case of analytical use of the sieves, identification is possible via a tamper-proof 3D laser label on the sieve frame which can also be customized per specifications from our customers.
