Durable frame made from varnished beechwood & stainless steel wire cloth for high strength and long lifetime, even for extensive use
- Low weight and no sharp edges enable easy sieving by hand
- Standard Sizes: 300 x 300 x 80 mm for hand sieving, 500 x 500 x 80 mm for large volumes
- Frame designed to enable easy stacking of multiple sieves to allow for multi-stage sieving in a single process
- Compatible with sieve shakers and industrial shakers for automatic sieving
- For analytical application: wire cloth in accordance with ISO 3310 / ASTM E 11, or perforated plates with precision openings (round, square, oblong)
- As cost-efficient alternative with industrial-grade wire cloth for non-analytical application and use for hobbyists
Beechwood sieves made by Blau-Metall offer a cost-effective alternative to our palette of all-metal sieves and are perfectly suited for hand-sieving – owing to a low-weight yet extremely durable design.
With a lower acquisition cost than all-stainless-steel sieves of similar size, our sieves with wooden frames are an ideal alternative for use around the house and garden, for hobbyists (e.g. pottery, bakery) as well as a broad range of sieving tasks for industrial or analytical purposes.
Blau-Metall sieves with beechwood frames can be fitted with all woven wire cloth sizes we offer for our regular, circular, stainless steel sieves in accordance with ISO 3310-1 or its American equivalent, ASTM E 11. For non-analytical use, a number of inexpensive industrial-grade wire cloth sizes are available to cater to those who are looking for a simple solution for particle separation. In addition, the frames can also be outfitted with perforated plates consisting of stainless steel and manufactured by the same high-precision processes that are used for our laboratory sieves.
Beechwood sieve frames can be manufactured in a variety of dimensions by our in-house carpentry shop, allowing our customers to specify their exact size needs while keeping to a quick delivery schedule. The sieve frames are fully varnished for easy cleaning and maintenance.
Sieves with Beechwood frame are suitable for many dry bulk goods:
- Aggregates, Soils and Sands
- Grains, Cereal, Pulses and Seeds
- Glass and Ceramics
- Construction Materials
- Plastic Granules
- Industrial goods and raw materials
Applications for sieves with wooden frame:
- Bakery – flour sieves from 150 µm to 1.0 mm
- Kitchen sieve for grains, spices, sugar, rice, etc.
- Gardening and landscaping
- Pottery – 45 µm to 500 µm
Blau-Metall sieves with beechwood frame are available in three variants:
- Test Sieves for analytical application: For precise and repeatable sieve analysis, our beechwood frames can be fitted with stainless steel woven wire cloth according to ISO 3310-1 or ASTM E 11 starting at 45 µm (Mesh No. 325). These sieves have a tamper-proof 3D laser label and undergo the same stringent quality control process of all Blau-Metall test sieves to be delivered with a Certificate of Compliance 2.1 or, on customer request, with inspection or calibration certificates. (New in 2025: sieve label directly on the frame – no more rivetted aluminum labels)
- Industrial-Grade Sieves: For all sieving applications that do not require the precision of test sieving, our beechwood frames can be manufactured with less expensive stainless steel wire cloth that complies with industrial tolerances, e.g. ISO 9044. Mesh sizes start at 63 µm.
- Perforated Plate Sieves: In addition to wire cloth, we offer beechwood sieves with stainless-steel perforated plates. For typical applications, square openings from 4.00 mm are available in accordance with ISO 3310-2 / ASTM E 323 as a more durable solution compared to wire cloth. For specialized sieving tasks, perforated plates with round openings are available from 0.5 mm and oblong apertures start at 1.00 mm.
