The European Standard EN 1015 defines two reference methods for the determination of particle size distribution of dry mortar mixtures or fresh mortar. According to these specifications, mortar with normal aggregates are to be inspected via wet sieving while mortar with lightweight aggregates can be analyzed via dry sieving. As specified in EN 1015, the testing setup shall include eight laboratory test sieves with square apertures or wire mesh as well as a suitable collecting pan and sieve lid.
