Differences between the international standard ISO 3310 and the American ASTM E11 primarily lie in different mesh sizes identified as primary sieves, as well as some technical differences with respect to the calculation of permissible deviations of the aperture sizes and standard deviation. In this regard, ASTM E11 calls for widely different documentation requirements than the comparable ISO 3310.
